Ways to Uninstall Steam On different OS

A day before i installed steam to play a game Gang Beasts but unfortunately its not responding after i installed in my Ubuntu 18.04 so i thought i have to reinstall it. To reinstall it i have to remove it completely i know you say its easy to uninstall but in ubuntu its different you have to find all file or you have to run some commands so its slightly difficult to new users so i thought i should write about it. so lets start

What is Steam?
Steam is a central hub for gaming and It allows to download games, both free and paid, as well as other gaming related functions such as live streaming and chatting with friends etc.

Here i am taking all major OS for all OS Users.
  • Windows(7, 8, 10)
  • Mac OS
  • Linux( Ubuntu )
Windows 10:
 Just Follow the step
  1. Open Setting (Click the Image titled Windowsstart.png Button and select the Setting gear Image titled Windowssettings.png.
  2. Go to Apps Category.
  3. Select Apps & features In the left Panel.
  4. Find and click "Steam" in the apps list.
  5. Click on the Uninstall Button to Uninstall.
  6. Just Sit Down and Allow the uninstall process to finish. Confirm any prompts if prompted.
Windows 7 and 8:
  1. Click the Image titled Windowsstart.png Button and click on Control Panel .
  2. Click "Uninstall a Program" under the "Programs" header. This is towards the bottom-left of the window.
  3. Find and select "Steam" in the apps list.
  4. Click the Uninstall button. It's right above the apps list.
  5. Allow the uninstall process to finish.
  6. Allow the uninstall process to finish. Confirm any prompts if prompted.

Mac OS:
  1. Open up the Applications list. Open Finder and press ⌘ Command+⇧ Shift+A simultaneously.
  2. Drag Steam to the trash.
  3. Click "Go" from the menu bar.
  4. Hold down the ⌥ Option key (also known as the alt key) until you see the "Library" folder.
  5. Open the folder from the drop-down menu.
  6. Find and navigate to "Library\Application Support\Steam".
  7. If you want to keep your data, delete all files and folders in "\Steam" except the "\SteamApps" folder. If not, simply delete the entire Steam folder.
  8. Select "Finder" from the top toolbar, then select "Empty Trash". Confirm by clicking OK.
Linux(Ubuntu):
  1. Open a "Terminal" window. Press Ctrl+Alt+T simultaneously.
  2. Type sudo apt-get remove steam and hit ↵ Enter
  3. Type sudo apt-get purge steam and hit ↵ Enter.
  4. Type rm -rf ~/.local/share/Steam && rm -rf ~/.steam and hit ↵ Enter.
  5. Exit the Terminal window.
